We are pleased to announce and congratulate our Skillset Apprentice, Trainee and Host of the Month winners for December 2023. These awards celebrate the accomplishments, dedication, and contributions within the vocational and skills development sector.
Apprentice of the Month: Gabriella’s Stellar Performance
Congratulations to Gabriella Aquilini for earning the title of Apprentice of the Month. Skillset Workforce Consultant, Patrick Hoolihan, commended her consistent excellence in her role as an Apprentice Electrician at TKM Electrical. Patrick stated, “Gabriella has been very consistent since she commenced her apprenticeship in January this year. She has exceeded expectations in both her semester 1 & 2 TAFE reviews. Feedback from her host is always positive, saying she has a ‘can do’ attitude and is willing to give any job her best shot.”
Gabriella has thoroughly enjoyed her first year of her apprenticeship. Gabriella said, “I have found the apprenticeship to be very rewarding and I have learnt a lot in the first year. I am enjoying the variety of work locations I get to work at in my day-to-day duties and working with Troy and the team. I am picking up the essential skills I need.”
Host of the Month: TKM Electrical’s Dedication to Development
TKM Electrical has been recognised as Host of the Month for creating a positive learning environment and making substantial contributions to skills development. Patrick Hoolihan nominated TKM Electrical, noting, “They cultivate a team environment that ensures everyone is supported and treated as a valued team member. Troy McCormack (owner of TKM) and Therese have been particularly instrumental in assisting us in finding suitable duties for one of their apprentices who experienced a workplace injury.”
When presenting the award to Troy, he said to Pat, “I see apprentices as the future of my business and investing my time in them only makes sense. I want them to the best they can be.”
Trainee of the Month: Imogen’s Commitment to her School-Based Traineeship
Imogen Lowe is recognised as Trainee of the Month for her dedication in a school-based traineeship that she is completing at Towri MACS Centre. Patrick Hoolihan highlighted Imogen’s seamless integration into the Towri family, positive feedback from her host, and commitment to both her traineeship and nursing studies at TAFE. Patrick mentioned, “Imogen, a School-Based Trainee, has seamlessly integrated into the Towri family. Her host consistently provides positive feedback on her performance, noting that Imogen has developed a fantastic rapport with both the children and their parents. Furthermore, she is diligently keeping up with her studies, excelling in both her traineeship and school commitments.”
Imogen said she would recommend a traineeship to anyone. It is a great opportunity to gain experience and a qualification while being paid at the same time. Being still at school gives her a lot of options when she completes.
Congratulations to Gabriella, TKM Electrical, and Imogen for their outstanding achievements. These individuals and businesses, based in Bathurst, showcase dedication and passion for their respective roles within the vocational education and training industry.
