At Skillset, we believe in recognising and celebrating excellence within the vocational and skills development sector. It is with great pleasure that we announce and congratulate our Skillset Apprentice, Trainee, and Host of the Month winners for their outstanding contributions and achievements.

Host of the Month: WF Industries

Our Host of the Month award goes to WF Industries, a company that is committed to creating a positive learning environment and fostering the growth of individuals within our regional communities. Rodney Ney, Skillset Senior Workforce Consultant, nominated WF Industries for this award, citing their exceptional efforts in skills development.

According to Rodney, “Wayne and Karissa have cultivated a positive workplace culture. All employees undergo comprehensive training across various trade facets, ensuring a broad spectrum of work opportunities—from shed tasks to on-site projects, including shutdowns. Wayne has assembled a team of tradesmen boasting extensive knowledge and experience, who actively mentor apprentices alongside him. Notably, Wayne has been a staunch supporter of Skillset since running his first business, to working with Hort Enterprises and now operating his own business again.”

Apprentice of the Month: Kayleb Dalton

Congratulations to Kayleb Dalton for being named Skillset’s Apprentice of the Month for March. Kayleb, currently completing a Certificate III Automotive – Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology Apprenticeship with Western Plains Automotive, has impressed with his performance.

Rodney commended Kayleb’s work ethic, stating, “Kayleb’s performance in the workshop has been exceptional. He approaches tasks with enthusiasm and initiative, consistently seeking out opportunities to contribute. His proactive approach and commitment to excellence have not gone unnoticed. Western Plains Automotive values Kayleb’s contributions and looks forward to offering him a permanent position upon completion of his apprenticeship.”
