A fresh start in nursing

Cassidy was working casual cleaning shifts but wanted stability and growth. After joining Skillset’s Career Connect, she mapped out a new pathway, refreshed her résumé, and got funding for essential employment clearances (including her NDIS Worker Screening Check). That momentum led to a traineeship as an Assistant in Nursing at Whiddon Nursing Home in Mudgee, and she’s now thriving and even referring friends who need the same kick‑start.

Building confidence and a career

Frequent relocations and unsupportive environments made it hard for Brittany to hold a job or study. Through Career Connect, she practiced interviews, found purposeful volunteering to build experience, and reframed her resume to spotlight her strengths and self‑advocacy. Result: a traineeship in Early Childhood Education with Community Kids Dubbo and a more confident, future‑focused mindset.

Creating a stable future

As a single mum working casually at Big W, Kaasha wanted more than short-term shifts, she wanted a career. Through Career Connect, she mapped out her goals, explored training options, and got help with essential checks like her NDIS Worker Screening and Working With Children Check. When transport became a barrier, her Skillset mentor connected her with free local driving programs. Today, Kaasha is balancing two jobs, starting a role in disability care, and planning further study to build the future she envisioned.
