Apprentice Fitter Machinist (Engine Reconditioning)

About the role

Skillset in partnership with a Leading Diesel Engine Reconditioning company are seeking applications for their new Fitter Machinist Apprentice in Orange, NSW.

About the Role

During the four-year apprenticeship, the successful candidate will complete a Certificate III in Engineering-Mechanical Trade while gaining valuable hands-on experience alongside industry experts. You will have the opportunity to learn a highly sought after and skilled position, using a variety of machines and equipment to build and recondition a variety of diesel engines.

Duties

• Accurately Inspect, measure and test components
• Operate engineering and machining tools and equipment
• Machine components using various equipment
• Follow work procedures, focusing on quality and safety
• Contribute to Quality Management
• Maintain a clean workspace

Skills and Experience

• Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail
• Passion and interest in component machining
• Hold a Forklift Licence (or willing to obtain)
• Hold a Class C P1 Drivers Licence (or working towards)
