Skillset TradeUP – Ready, Set, GO into a Trade Career

Skillset TradeUP is a trade careers program for high school students in Years 7 to 12 to increase their exposure to trade careers and activities, local employers and mentoring to maximise the transition into trade careers.

The TradeUp program is funded by the NSW Government Stronger Country Communities Fund for high schools in Orange and Dubbo NSW regions.

We offer a variety of services including future career presentations, in-depth career preparation days for school leavers, resume writing and mock interviews, attendance at career nights and expos, subject selection support, mentoring support activities, work experience support and connection into other Skillset services that would be helpful for high school students.

“The Central West Careers Advisers Association has benefited greatly from its association with Skillset and the TradeUP program. It is important for our members to be able to provide students with current and relevant industry information to support their career planning. TradeUP is also able to connect us with services and opportunities that will assist students to transition with ease to the workplace. The CWCAA values the industry knowledge that Skillset and the TradeUP team provide both to network members as well as to our students.”

– Glen Pearson, Central West Careers Advisers Association President and Orange High School Careers Adviser
