About the role

Bring your understanding of Aboriginal culture and work with the Cultural Engagement & Natural Resources Management Teams of Central Tablelands Local Land Services and Skillset.  The successful applicant will complete a Certificate II in Conservation and Land Management, whilst receiving formal and on the job training.

This entry-level opportunity is suited to an applicant who is highly-motivated, a team player and keen to pursue a career with Conservation and Land Management.

OUR OFFERING

  • Nationally accredited qualification in Australia
  • Formal on the job training
  • Mentoring and support from a dedicated Skillset Workforce Consultant

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working with the Aboriginal Engagement Officers
  • Working with Aboriginal Women’s Business
  • Working with World Heritage sites
  • Assist with group baiting programs
  • Analyse surveillance photos
  • Work with land/stake holders
  • Assist with pest management
  • Assist the Biosecurity team
  • Contribute to the reporting requirements for each task
  • Participate in community engagement programs
  • Adhere to and carry out Health and Safety procedures

WE ARE SEEKING INDIVIDUALS:

  • Keen to work outdoors and make a difference in the environment and community
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding role in outdoor bushland areas
  • Knowledge of Aboriginal Women’s Business 
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Exhibit good work ethic and time management to ensure that tasks are completed on time
  • Strong attention to detail and a drive to get the job done
  • Drivers Licence
  • White Card or willingness to obtain
  • Willing to complete a Pre-employment medical (including Drug & Alcohol Screening)
