Have you been looking for a role that can take you to great heights? Do you have a passion for building? Skillset in conjunction with a prominent and well known bricklaying company are seeking applications for their new Bricklaying Apprentice to join their passionate and dedicated team. The successful candidate will be based in between Dubbo and Gilgandra. The successful candidate will complete a Certificate III in Bricklaying over a four-year period.

This entry level opportunity is suited to someone who has a strong work ethic, is hands on, and hard working. The successful applicant should have a desire to work in the construction industry.

OUR OFFERING:

  • A full time, 4-year placement that will provide formal on the job training
  • You will be allocated a dedicated Skillset Consultant who will support you throughout your Apprenticeship
  • At the successful completion of the role you will graduate with a nationally recognised qualification

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Learn the foundations and content to develop skills including preparing brick/blocklaying materials, mixing cement and carting bricks
  • Use brick/blocklaying tools and equipment, such as a brick saw and grinder
  • assist in analysing plans and specifications
  • Carry out measurements and calculations in accordance with plans
  • Apply basic levelling procedures
  • Work cooperatively with other trades while on site
  • Assist in setting up and packing up job sites
  • Adhere to all Work Health Safety policies and procedures
  • Complete all related TAFE work and study associated with the Traineeship

WE ARE SEEKING INDIVIUDALS WHO:

  • Are reliable and physically able to perform manual handling tasks
  • Hold a current White Card or willing to obtain prior to commencement
  • Willing to travel with occasional overnight stays
  • Keen interest in the construction industry
  • Enjoy working in the outdoors and as part of a team
  • Have a demonstrated ability to follow instruction, good mathematical skills and a high attention to detail
  • Be able to adapt to change and work in all weather conditions
  • Committed to the study component of the Apprenticeship
  • Hold a current Drivers Licence (preferred but not essential)

NEXT STEPS/RECRUITMENT PROCESS:

  • The first stage of assessment is an online entrance exam that will be emailed you automatically when you apply. Individuals who do not complete the online entrance exam within the specified time frame will be unable to progress to the next stage.

  • Your cover letter must address the selection criteria and tell us why you are interested in the Traineeship. We would also love to hear about any experience or projects you have been involved in that are related to the industry.
  • Applicants must be able to attend interviews in Dubbo NSW
  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate work rights in Australia
