Skillset are seeking applications for an experienced and enthusiastic Career Development Consultant to join our thriving, community driven organisation and be based in our Orange, NSW office.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Career Development programs focus on supporting individuals in our community to develop their career through skills, education and employment. You will seek, develop and facilitate the provision of accessible and quality careers information.

In this hands on role, you will mentor and support participants and liaise with community organisations such as TAFE to plan and implement targeted training and career development strategies. You will also be able to develop productive relationships with your fellow colleagues and the broader business community, to assist young people into employment, education or skills development.

The role will focus on:

  • Managing, mentoring and supporting participants into training and employment
  • Meeting a range of program KPI’s that contribute to increasing your clients’ competitiveness in the labour market
  • Providing effective outcome-based case management, administration and reporting
  • Working to establish a career pathway with individuals over a 3 to 6-month period
  • Assisting youth to access support in the areas of skills development, education and employment  

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Experience in the Recruitment, VET or Employment Services Sector
  • A passion for people and wanting to help them in reaching their full potential
  • Outstanding organisational skills with a good eye for detail
  • Excellent and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills using systems and Microsoft Office
  • Drivers Licence
  • Working with Children Check
  • Willing to undertake a Police Check
