Achieving the career you want may not happen as you first imagine. Instead of the envisaged pathway of finishing school, undertaking qualifications in a particular field and winning your ideal job, you may actually take a number of different training pathways to arrive at the career you want. This may include one or a combination of the following:
- Working whilst you are studying
- Undertaking an apprenticeship or traineeship
- Studying at TAFE in a particular field and using this as a stepping stone to a university qualification in your chosen profession
- Transitioning to another field by using the qualifications you have and studying some more.
The fact is your career is as unique as you are. Your pathway doesn’t have to be the same as others. There are multiple avenues to get where you want to be.
