Skillset celebrates the incredible achievement of Luka Smith<\/strong>, who has been named School Based Trainee of the Year<\/strong> at the NSW Training Awards \u2013 Western Region.<\/p>\n

Luka began his Certificate II in Engineering traineeship in 2022 while completing his Higher School Certificate. Hosted by Hort Enterprises in Orange<\/strong>, Luka has shown exceptional dedication, maturity and enthusiasm throughout his traineeship.<\/p>\n

Why Luka Stands Out<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Luka\u2019s commitment to learning and growth has been evident from day one. He has excelled in his TAFE coursework, demonstrated strong technical skills in Engineering Fabrication, and contributed meaningfully to his workplace. Beyond his professional achievements, Luka actively mentors younger students, making a positive impact in his community.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on his award, Luka shared:<\/p>\n

\u201cWinning a NSW Training Award makes me feel extremely honoured. I am grateful for the opportunity to represent my trade, the people I work with, and those involved in VET training. This recognition validates my hard work and gives me confidence in making valuable contributions to the workplace and community. I am excited about the future and eager to further develop my skills.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Craig Kemenade, Luka\u2019s supervisor at Hort Enterprises, praised his work ethic and attitude:<\/p>\n
