It aims to remove or reduce the risk, as reasonably practical,\u00a0to health, safety and welfare of all Skillset\u00a0Employees, contractors, visitors and anyone else who may be affected by our business operations.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This Policy is applicable to all Skillset\u00a0Employees,\u00a0Board Members,\u00a0contractors, and visitors to any site or office of Skillset.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4>2.0 POLICY<\/h4>\n<p>Skillset\u00a0regards compliance with all legislative requirements as the minimum standard to be adhered to.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The achievement of a\u00a0safe,\u00a0healthy, injury free work environment represents one of\u00a0the Skillset&#8217;s\u00a0key objectives. Safety is\u00a0considered\u00a0an integral part of everything we do, and an essential requirement for the continued success and growth of our businesses.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Skillset\u00a0will make every reasonable effort to ensure continuous improvement in the areas of:<\/p>\n<ul role=\"list\">\n<li>The assessment of risk across all levels of the business\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Hazard identification, assessment and control\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Accident\u00a0and incident\u00a0prevention\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The effective return to work of injured \/ ill workers.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>WHS strategies and systems at\u00a0Skillset\u00a0include,\u00a0but are not limited to:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul role=\"list\">\n<li>WHS induction as part of new\u00a0Employee\u00a0onboarding\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>WHS training appropriate to individual roles\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Consultation with\u00a0Employees\u00a0via\u00a0the Skillset\u00a0WHS Committee\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Regular workplace audits, including safety walks\u00a0undertaken by members of the WHS Committee\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>SLPOL022\u00a0&#8220;Emergency and Critical Incident Management Policy&#8221;\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Effective emergency protocols, including drills and evacuation plans\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Well maintained electronic detection systems (e.g. fire alarms)\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Injury, incident and near miss\u00a0reporting mechanisms.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>WHS is a shared responsibility between everyone in the workplace including, contractors, visitors, Employees and Management.\u00a0Responsibilities include:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Duties of\u00a0Leaders:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul role=\"list\">\n<li>To acquire and keep up-to-date knowledge of\u00a0WHS\u00a0matters\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>To gain an understanding of the hazards and risks associated with Skillset\u00a0operations\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>To ensure Skillset\u00a0uses\u00a0and has\u00a0appropriate resources to eliminate or minimise risks to health and safety from work carried out\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that Skillset appropriately processes information regarding incidents, hazards and risks and responds in a timely way to that information\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Ensure all\u00a0Employees\u00a0within Skillset\u00a0operations are involved with consultation and communication regarding all health and safety matters.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Duties of Skillset Employees,\u00a0contractors and\u00a0visitors\u00a0to any site or office of Skillset:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul role=\"list\">\n<li>Take reasonable care for their own health and safety\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Take reasonable care that their acts or omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of other persons\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Wear personal protective equipment and clothing in the way they were trained and instructed to, where necessary\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Comply, so\u00a0far\u00a0as reasonably able, with any reasonable instruction that is given by Skillset\u00a0to ensure compliance with the\u00a0Work Health and Safety\u00a0Act\u00a02011 (WHS Act)\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Co-operate with any reasonable policy or procedure of Skillset relating to health or safety at the workplace, including (but not limited to);\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>SLPOL004\u00a0&#8220;Code of Conduct\u00a0Policy&#8221;\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>SLPOL009\u00a0&#8220;Fitness for Work\u00a0(inc\u00a0Drugs and Alcohol)\u00a0Policy&#8221;\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>SLPOL010\u00a0&#8220;Motor Vehicle &amp; Travel\u00a0Policy&#8221;\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>SLPOL015\u00a0&#8220;Risk Management\u00a0Policy&#8221;\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>SLPOL017\u00a0&#8220;Workplace Surveillance\u00a0Policy&#8221;\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>SLPOL019\u00a0&#8220;Workplace Bullying,\u00a0Harassment\u00a0&amp; Discrimination\u00a0Policy&#8221;\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>SLPOL021\u00a0&#8220;Manual Handing\u00a0Policy&#8221;\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>SLPOL022\u00a0&#8220;Emergency and Critical Incident Management\u00a0Policy&#8221;\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>SLPOL024\u00a0&#8220;Electrical Safety\u00a0Policy&#8221;\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>SLPOL027\u00a0&#8220;First Aid\u00a0Policy&#8221;\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>SLPOL040\u00a0&#8220;Safe Home Visits\u00a0Policy&#8221;\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Report all accidents and incidents on the job immediately\u00a0to the Safety Manager, no matter how minor\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Report all known or observed hazards to their supervisor or\u00a0Manager\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the development and review of WHS systems and practices.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The WHS Committee is governed by SOPHS001 &#8220;WHS Constitution&#8221;.
