Success! 250 jobs pledged!
Our Workforce Team set themselves the goal to place 250 jobs between November 2016 and the end of March 2017. This campaign was responding to the fact that youth unemployment in the Central West was two and a half times higher than the overall unemployment rate.
The result? We reached 249 jobs by close of business on March 31st. Such a great effort by all!
The biggest thanks must go to all our employers – large and small!
This great outcome would not have been reached without the support of all our employers. Thank you to each and every one who pledged a job, or more than one, to help give young people in our region the chance to secure a better future. We were supported by businesses from right across the Central West including Bathurst, Lithgow, Oberon, Mudgee, Dubbo, Parkes, Orange, Cowra and Blayney.
A special mention must go to Storco, an Orange based self-storage business, who pledged a Finance and IT Systems Manager to meet our goal of reaching 250 jobs last week.
Our Workforce Team will continue doing what they do best – working to connect young people across the Central West to training and employment opportunities.
If you are a local business and have a casual, part time, full time, or an apprenticeship or traineeship on offer, please give our team a call.
